As You Remember It: The Lift-Off of APOLLO 11 and The First Moon Landing 1969

Apollo11

The Lift-Off of APOLLO 11

In July of 1969, America sent the first humans to the moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins were aboard the mission named Apollo 11.

The launch vehicle they rode, the Saturn 5 rocket, is still the most powerful machine ever built. It generated almost 8 million pounds of thrust and even after nearly 40 years, it is the only vehicle that has carried men beyond earth's gravity.

Watch it now, as you would have seen it on July 16, 1969, at 9:26 AM EDT. T-minus 00:5:59 and counting.

First Moon Landing 1969

The video of the very first moon landing of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969! Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon with his now legendary words "One small step for man, a giant leap for mankind." This is a truly amazing video and it was in 1969!!! If you think about it, you have orders of magnitude more processing power in your mobile phone than they did in the whole space craft!! Incredible!

Michael Jackson’s death Takes down the Internet

MichaelJacksonMyIdol Oh my God. Jackson’s death brought down Google and other popular site. Even Twitter had to temporarily disable their searching to avoid the Fail Whale. (Fail Whale always appear whenever Twitter goes down.)

 google-error-small twitter_fail_whale_01

In one Interview he publicly announced that his July’s concert will be his last performance, but that won’t happen now.

Considering that  all  tickets to his concert has been sold out,  many of his fans including me was so depressed because his passing away is such a big lost in the music industry. Michael Jackson, My Idol died today June 25, 2009, California Time.

The video ranking below were all topped by Michael Jackson’s video. The most viewed video is the "Thriller" which has reached 59 million views as of today and still growing.

Who started the Party? (I GOT TO BE UNSTOPPABLE)

SasQuatch  While at Sasquatch Music Festival 2009. A Man started a huge party by initially dancing alone, then in a matter of minutes people started joining him.

This video tells us all that the distinction between cool and un-cool is arbitrary and that any of us can be Collin if we just have the courage to be ourselves.

Hear them chants “I GOTTA BE UNSTOPPABLE" Whoooo!!! How I wish I was there!

Will you Dance Dance Immolation?

dance2rev

252px-Dance_Dance_Revolution_PlayStation_cover_art  I’m sure  everyone’s familiar with Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution.

This is the dance game where you follow on screen arrows while jumping around underfoot on a sensitive control panel in rhythm with music.

Now Boing Boing Video brings you a pyro-parody of the popular arcade game which is called “DANCE DANCE IMMOLATION”

The objective of the game is never to miss a step or you’ll get torched with a giant flamethrower in the FACE!!! This is so hilarious.

More from the Video Author:

"Dance Dance Immolation combines video games, music, and propane. You play DDR. A good performance wins you acclaim from flamethrowers. A missed step gets you a face full of fire! Yes, the fire is real. Put on a fireproof suit and give it a try!"

The contraption was created by the clan of happy mutant makers known as Interpretive Arson. We shot this at "How to Destroy the Universe," a yearly Industrial culture event which this year honored Throbbing Gristle's reunion tour.

I noticed that hovering your mouse over the yellow Digg button display friends who also dugg a particular topic you are interested in. Use this instead of the “who dugg this?” link.

I should have shouted this instead but there will be no visuals.

Am I too late for this news? Dugg?
